Peptide Storage Guide
Storing research peptides
Correct storage preserves peptide stability and purity. Requirements differ between unopened lyophilized vials and reconstituted solutions.
Lyophilized (powder) peptides
- Short term (weeks): cool, dry, dark — a fridge at 2–8°C is ideal.
- Long term (months+): sealed in a freezer at -20°C or below.
- Keep away from light, heat and humidity at all times.
Reconstituted peptides
- Always refrigerate at 2–8°C once mixed.
- Use within the stability window for that compound — typically a few weeks.
- Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which degrade peptides.
General tips
- Label vials with reconstitution date and concentration.
- Minimise time at room temperature.
- Transport cold where possible.
