Mixing Solution
Bacteriostatic Water
Overview
Bacteriostatic Water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative, supplied in a sealed 10ml vial for laboratory use. It is the standard solvent used to reconstitute lyophilised research peptides, and the preservative allows a vial to be entered more than once.

Choosing a reconstitution solvent
Bacteriostatic water suits the large majority of research peptides. A few compounds are less soluble in it and are instead reconstituted using a dilute acid. Our guide covers the difference: Bacteriostatic Water vs Acetic Acid for Peptides. For technique, see our reconstitution guide.
Please note: this is an add-on product and should be ordered alongside another research product. Orders containing only Bacteriostatic Water may be cancelled and refunded.
For laboratory research use only. Not intended for human or veterinary consumption.
