Research Focus

NAD+ is one of the most studied molecules in ageing biology. Published research has examined its role in cellular energy metabolism and redox reactions; activation of the sirtuins, a family of enzymes involved in cellular repair and stress response; PARP-mediated DNA repair, which consumes NAD+ directly; and the well-documented decline of NAD+ levels with age, which is the observation most of the field is built around.
